We will be reaching out to winners about how to deliver the prizes.
What is this challenge?
Our challenge will be structured on July 8th starting at 9am and will last approximately 4 hours. During this challenge, we will spend 45 minutes teaching essential quantum computing concepts such as linear algebra, quantum circuits, qiskit, and quantum algorithms. After that, we will spend the remainder of the time applying the new knowledge. No quantum computing experience is required, however you should have experience with python and algebra in order to effectively learn. The challenge will take place online, and all you need at home is a computer, a stable internet connection, and the will to learn.
What about prizes?
You will be scored based on your performance during the knowledge application, and the top 3 scorers will receive a prize. Additionally, all participants will be entered into a raffle to win additional prizes! You get 1 raffle ticket just by participating, 1 by filling out our feedback survey, and 1 more by referring a friend(s) that also participate.
So what will I learn?
Linear algebra
Vector operations
Matrix operations
Representations of qubits with vectors
Spin and Qubits
What are Qubits and why are they important?
The Bloch Sphere
Gate fidelity
Quantum Gates
What are quantum gates?
Different types of quantum gates
Matrix representations of gates
Quantum Circuits
How to read Quantum Circuits
Using math to compute quantum circuits by hand
Representing a quantum circuit in qiskit
Running our qiskit code on real quantum computers
Quantum algorithms
Real world applications for quantum computing
Shor’s algorithm
P/NP & time complexity
No cloning theorem
And much more!
Why should I join the challenge?
Quantum computing is the future of computing, and by joining our club you can get your first look at some of the exciting quantum world. Even if you already have experience with quantum computing, you can reinforce existing knowledge and practice what you know.
